Ben Murray-Bruce, the senator representing Bayelsa East has reacted to the concerns raised by the United States, US, and Britain over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen.
DAILY POST had reported that many Nigerians, as well as the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom have condemned the development.
But, reacting, the Federal Government in a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, to NAN on Saturday, warned against foreign interference into the nation’s affairs, capable of creating apprehension, distrust among citizens or undermining the transparency and acceptability of outcomes of the nation’s electoral process.
But, reacting, Bruce in a post on his Twitter page, commended the EU for weighing in on the suspension of CJN Onnoghen.
He called on EU to issue visa ban on those involved in illegality.
Bruce wrote: “I thank the EU for weighing in on the Onnoghen matter on the side of the Nigerian people. Thank you for being a good friend in our time of need.
“Please note all those involved in this illegality, from top to bottom, in preparation for visa bans.”
