There was explosion around Okaka Estate, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Tuesday causing panic among the residents.
Although nobody died, one person was reportedly injured in the incident.
The device exploded at the Road 6 of the estate at about 11am shortly after the morning rain.
The explosion was said to have occurred from an old blue Nissan Sunny car parked along the road by unknown persons.
A resident of the area said the device exploded from the boot of the vehicle.
“It only rocked the boot of the car shattering its back screen. Somebody was injured because at the time of the explosion, some people were in and around the car. They took to their heels to save their lives”, the resident who pleaded anonymity said.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Alex Akhigbe, who confirmed the incident said nobody was injured.
