One person simply identified as Wilson, has been seriously injured in a clash involving Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities in Udu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State, DAILY POST can report.
The injured person is an Ogbe-Ijoh indigene.
DAILY POST learnt that he was allegedly shot during the clash between both communities.
At the time of filing this report, no life was lost and no property destroyed, but there is serious tension that the clash may continue this night if security operatives do not wade in.
The IYC President in Ogbe-Ijoh community, Engr. Smart Okosun confirmed the clash between both communities.
Engr. Okosun said,”Aladja people came to attack us. Let it not be that we didn’t tell the world of this attack. Anyhow it is, we must retaliate. ”
The Assistant Secretary of Aladja community council, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi said it is the Ogbe-Ijoh people that attacked them.
According to Bezi,”The Ogbe-Ijoh people attacked us with guns and other dangerous weapons through the Onos “B” Beach of Aladja community.
“We are calling on the Delta State Government because the whole Ijaws are planning to attack Aladja this night.
“Our people have been running helter-skelter and we are not going to fold our hands if they attack and injure one person here. Enough is enough. ”
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report.
CP Mustafa said,”We are aware and we have sent mobile police to that place. One person was shot and he is receiving treatment in Warri.”
