The suspected kidnapper, who was arrested during a failed kidnap operation, has been confirmed dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph who revealed this to DAILY POST on Tuesday, stated that the suspect died due to complications from high dose of Tramadol he took before the botched operation despite efforts made to revive him.
DAILY POST had reported how the suspect was apprehended following a failed kidnap attempt on a pharmacist after the suspect was said to have overdosed on Tramadol.
He had been unconscious since his arrest over the August 5 kidnap attempt at a patent medicine store after two of his gang members had escaped.
According to the PPRO, the suspect died at the Owo General Hospital where medical personnel had battled to revive him.
“The suspect died nine days after we arrested him; we thought he would be revived so that he could help us in our investigation,” Joseph said.
