Ondo Government approves Aladetoyinbo as Deji of Akure


The Ondo State Executive Council has approved the appointment of Prince Kole Aladetoyinbo by the kingmakers in Akure as the new Deji of Akure land.

In a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Hon Kayode Akinmade, the State Executive Council gave the approval at about 10.00am on Monday at the Council’s meeting.

He said the approval followed the unanimous decision of the kingmakers to elect Aladetoyinbo among other contestants to the vacant stool at their meeting last Sunday.

Oba elect, Aladetoyinbo will be presented with the staff of office in a date yet to be announced.

The Deji of Akure’s stool became vacant following the demise of Oba Adebiyi Adegboye Adesida Afunbiowo II.

The late Deji of Akureland and the Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Adebiyi Adesida died at the age of 63.

He reigned for only three years having ascended the throne in year 2010.
