The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has insisted it will not postpone Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, as there is no justifiable reason to do so.
Mr. Rotimi Oyakanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman, made this known in an interview with PUNCH.
He was speaking in response to fresh demands for the polls to be shifted, by the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committe of the PDP.
Makarfi had alleged that the names of PDP agents sent to INEC for the election, were from the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction.
But Oyekanmi said: “INEC will not postpone the Ondo Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday November 26.
“The Commission is ready and all the necessary materials have been deployed.
“There is no justifiable reason to shift the election.”
