The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the judgment of the Appeal Court which sacked Jimoh Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming Ondo election and replaced him with Eyitayo Jegede.
DAILY POST reports that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja Wednesday upturned aside the verdict of the Federal High Court which ordered the replacement of the name of Eyitayo Jegede with that of Jimoh Ibrahim. Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led panel in its ruling affirmed that replacing Jegede with Ibrahim without hearing Jegede’s side was breach of fair hearing, adding that the lower court erred in its judgment. Reacting the APC said it has always been prepared to oust the PDP from the state no matter who the party’s candidate is and that Jegede’s appearance on the scene will not make a difference.
Deputy National Secretary of the APC, Mr. Ogi Ngofa, who spoke to newsmen at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, said the party is ready to take over the state from the PDP.
