Ondo election: APC creating trouble between Oke, Ajasin, Adefarati families – Group

A group under the auspices of the Peoples’ Assembly, has warned the All Progressives Congress, APC, against creating hatred between the families of the former governors of the state – Late Pa. Adekunle Ajasin and late Chief Adebayo Adefarati – and the Alliance for Democracy’s governorship candidate, Chief Olusola Oke.

The pro-AD group claimed that the APC was getting involved in a campaign of calumny against Oke by saying in the media that he (Oke) should stop using the late Ajasin and Adefarati’s name to achieve his political goal .

A statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary General of the group, Mr. Kehinde Fayanju, said that the report in the media was totally untrue as the two families had neither met nor jointly issued any warning to Oke and his campaign team.

He said, “As a matter of fact, it will appear unserious or rather bizarre for any political office seeker not to make reference to the good works of Late Pa Adekunle Ajasin and Late Adebayo Adefarati in the South-West.

“The names of the two Yoruba leaders have become reference points for all the good reasons to be employed in political circle because of their near legendary outlook.

“The Peoples’ Assembly states categorically that stakeholders of Ondo State have signed an agreement long ago to uphold and maintain peace and order in all dimensions in the state. So the faceless and unidentifiable characters behind this report must desist from using the Patriarchs’ names to cause political confusion in our state.”
