Ondo election: Akeredolu begs APC members for support

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has appealed to aggrieved members of the party to support him to win the forthcoming election.

In a statement signed by APC Director of Media and publicity, Steve Otaloro, Akeredolu urged all members to put their differences aside and work for the victory next month.

Akeredolu assured that if elected governor, he would “focus on job creation through agriculture, entrepreneurship and industrialisation; massive infrastructural development and maintenance as well as promotion of functional education and technological growth”.

Akeredolu alleged that the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, would only be in the government house to represent interest of his principal and incumbent governor, Olusegun Mimiko.

The APC primary election in Ondo State had split the party into three.

While one faction is backing Akeredolu, the other is insisting the primary election was rigged.

Oke is now candidate of the AD.

The primary also pitched an APC leader andformer Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu againstNational Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, John Odigie-Oyegun.

Oyegun, in a rejoinder titled ‘The Facts – 2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Election Primaries’, described the content of a statement by the media office of Tinubu over the Ondo primary as “reckless”.
