The Ondo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bisi Ogungbemi has been kidnapped by unknown armed men.
The party’s Senatorial Candidate for Ondo North in next year’s elections, Jide Ipinsagba was also kidnapped.
According to a source, those kidnapped alongside the party chieftains were three other occupants of the vehicle which belongs to Ipinsagba.
It was gathered that the party chieftains were kidnapped within the Oba-Akoko axis of the dreaded Akoko-People road on their way from Ikare-Akoko to Akure after a political outing.
The incident was said to have occurred between the hours of 7pm and 8pm yesterday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Femi Joseph who spoke with DAILY POST, the police is yet to confirm the identity of the victims, but ascertained that the vehicle belongs to Ipinsagba.
“We cannot really confirm those kidnapped yet, just that at the time we got there, we saw a vehicle, but we suspected that the vehicle belongs to Hon. Joseph Ipinsagba.
“As at now, we don’t know the other occupants of the vehicle but we have embarked on the search for the victims and the abductors.
“We have not yet ascertained the number of persons in the vehicle,” the PPRO stated.
Ipinsagba had recently dumped the ruling APC and joined ADC to actualize his senatorial aspiration.
