Super Eagles utility player, Ogenyi Onazi, has said he is hoping to win this season’s Europa League, after scoring in his side’s 2-0 victory over Stuttgart on Thursday.
Onazi, who won gold with Nigeria at the AFCON earlier this year, admitted he is eager to win another trophy with his Italian club.
“Our target is to reach the final and lift the trophy, but we must have to play as if all depends on us, and prays as if all depends on God,” Onazi told MTNFootball.com
The goal was his first in Europe and the very religious Onazi thanked God for helping him achieve the feat.
He said: “I give all thanks to God for the goal. I dedicate my goal to almighty God because he is the one that gave me the goal so I return all thanks and praises to him,” offered the 2013 AFCON champion with Nigeria.
“It was a great feeling to have scored my first goal in the Europa League. I am looking forward to scoring more as we progress in the competition and league.”
