Onazi Ogenyi doubtful for Confederations Cup

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, has emerged as a major doubt for Nigeria, as they prepare to fly to Brazil for the FIFA Confederations Cup, after he sustained a knee injury against Namibia on Wednesday.

The team co-ordinator Emmanuel Attah, said that the Lazio star might not play any part in the competition, which kicks off on Saturday.

“Onazi is doubtful for the Confederations Cup because he sustained an injury in the game against Namibia. It looks bad, but let’s wait and see,” Attah told a radio station in Lagos.

Onazi has become an important member of the Eagles midfield triumvirate, along with Mikel Obi and Sunday Mba, after making his debut for the senior side against Liberia last year.
