Omirin, others are jokers; APC mourning Fayose’s victory at tribunal – Ekiti Speaker

The factional “Speaker” of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dele Olugbemi, has described the sitting of “impeached” Speaker, Adewale Omirin, and “his 12 co-travellers as a comic relief from a troubled mind and abandoned people looking for where to hibernate”.

According to him, “Dr Omirin took his ‘Awada kerikeri’ to a ridiculous level when the twelve members of his gang met at a beer parlour joint in Lagos suburb and in his hallucination and day dreaming, Omirin stated that he was the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly.”

The Speaker in a statement at the weekend described Omirin as a shallow minded and unsettled person who may go senile if his people did not call him to order as he was desperately seeking for where to get money to pay the debt of over N20 million owed banks on which he used his property as collateral.

Olugbemi noted that Ekiti State under under the leadership of Governor Ayodele Fayose had witnessed tremendous peace, progress and development from the crippled economy left behind by the immediate past administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

The speaker alleged that the failed dream of Omirin to become Acting Governor as promised by his party leaders had made him to be traumatised, coupled with his party’s loss at the governorship election petitions tribunal in Abuja, which turned his party leaders to bereaved people.

He added: “Omirin should thank God for being an imposed Speaker for three and half years as he was not duly elected as Speaker in the first instance.

“Dr Omirin is not only selfish but self centred for claiming that he collected a ‘chicken change’ of N200,000 from the governor for fuel in just one visit to the governor.

“Has Omirin turned the speakership position to a family title and money making venture?” He queried.

Olugbemi stated that the Ekiti State House of Assembly under his leadership would embark on robust legislation that would be of greater benefits to Ekiti State people.

He also congratulated Governor Fayose on his victory at the election petitions tribunal, saying the victory had vindicated the governor on his wrongful impeachment and also showed to the world that Ekiti State people clearly spoke on June 21.

The speaker urged Ekiti State people to continue with their unflinching support for Governor Fayose as he strived to take the state to the next level.
