Head coach of the Super Falcons, Florence Omagbemi, has told the duo of Faith Ikidi and Ngozi Ebere, to stay away from the team’s camp in Abuja, for failing to respond early to her invitation.
The Falcons are currently preparing to face Senegal in a CAF Women Cup of Nations qualifier.
Omagbemi said: “I actually wanted Faith Ikidi to come and fight for a place in the team, but she told me that her club refused to release her. So, I have told her to stay way.
“The same goes for Ngozi Ebere and few others who have failed to report to the camp. We don’t have time to wait. We are only expecting Onome Ebi, Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala to hit the camp latest by Wednesday. They have given me their words, but in the case of Ikidi and Ebere, they were posting me and I am not ready for that now. We have to build a new Super Falcons that all Nigerians will be proud of.”
The Teranga Lionesses will host the Falcons on April 8 in Dakar and then travel to Abuja for the second leg on April 12.
