Oliseh to return next week

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, is expected back in Nigeria, ahead of next month’s 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Tafia Stars of Tanzania.

Oliseh and his assistant, Jean Francois Louscuito, are presently in London where they are meeting some Nigerian players.

The former national team captain promised to pick the best squad that will deliver maximum points in Dar er Salaam.

“The match in Tanzania is very, very crucial, not only because it is going to be my first match as head coach, but also because we have no choice than to win,” he told NFF.com.

“The three points are important for us to keep up the tempo in the group.

“We are on the same points with Egypt, though they have scored a goal more than us.

“That is why we cannot afford any slip along the way.

“We will deal first with the match in Tanzania and then we will start thinking about the CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso in October, and then the FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture in November.

“After these matches, we will now start working towards the two AFCON qualifying matches we have against Egypt in March next year.”

The game is scheduled for September 5, at the National Stadium in Dar er Salaam.
