Head coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, is expected to announce a 24-man squad this week, ahead of next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Swaziland.
The former Nigeria captain, missed last weekend’s CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso due to illness, but is expected to resume first week in November.
Oliseh is likely to call up six home-based players, with players like Chima Akas, Austin Oborakpo and Jamiu Alimi expected to be called up.
“We expect the coach to send us his squad list for the all important games this week,” a top source told Complete Sports.
It is left to be see how Oliseh replaces Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike, who have announced their retirement from international football.
