Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has tasked coach Sunday Oliseh to take Nigeria further than Stephen Keshi did in the last African Nations Championship.
Nigeria will take on Niger, Guinea and Tunisia in Group C, when the tournament kicks off January 16.
Although Okocha warned Oliseh not to take any of their opponents likely, he expressed confidence in the team.
“The team has what it takes to do well in Rwanda,” Okocha told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Oliseh has started well and all he needs now is to ensure the CHAN Eagles prepare adequately for the competition if really we want to do well.
“Yes, Nigeria won bronze under Keshi but I believe Oliseh can go two steps further this time around but he must not put himself under any pressure.”
