Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, is ready to bring in some players from the U-23 squad.
According to reports, the new national team handler is eyeing the likes of Italy-based Stanley Amuzie, FC Taraba skipper Usman Mohammed, Oghenekaro Etebo from Warri Wolves and Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari.
Amuzie, who plays in the left-back position, just moved to Sampdoria in Serie A and was in fine form as the U-23s beat Congo 2-1 in Port Harcourt earlier this month.
“Even before Amuzie was mentioned to him, Oliseh already has the player on his list,” a top source told AfricanFootball.
Usman Mohammed, Etebo and Sokari are very likely going to be called for a training camp for home-based stars later in August. If they impress Oliseh, he will call them up for the 2017 AFCON qualifier in Tanzania.
“The home-based Eagles camp in August will afford the players from the league to prove they are good enough for the main Super Eagles squad. Those who prove this will be on the flight to Tanzania,” the source added.
