Oliseh calls for patience

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has asked Nigerian fans to be patient, as the team begins preparations for the AFCON 2017 qualifier against Tanzania.

The Eagles will travel to face the Taifa Stars on September 5 and will play Burkina Faso over two legs in October.

Nigeria is also expected to play their first match in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in November.

“We have no choice but to hit the ground running,” Oliseh told thenff.com.

“Jean Francois (his assistant) and I have been busy combing and tracking players in Europe, while Salisu Yusuf has been doing same with the home-based stars.

“We have to cover all grounds and be adequately prepared for all the competitions we are involved in, whether it is CHAN, AFCON or the World Cup qualifiers.

“Our list of invited players for CHAN will be out in the first week of August, while that of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania should be out in mid-August.

“We urge everyone to continue to support the team and join their efforts with ours in ensuring that the Super Eagles succeed on all fronts.”
