Oliseh at war with NFF over Babangida’s sack

It appears Sunday Oliseh has gotten into another face-off with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), following the sack of his personal assistant, Tijani Babaginda.

After the NFF’s executive meeting on Tuesday, the federation warned Oliseh about his future and made it clear that he will defend the invitation of his squad before the NFF Technical Committee.

Babangida, whose contract is tied to Oliseh’s, was relieved of his duties.

“The immediate disengagement of Mr. Tijjani Babangida as Personal Assistant to Super Eagles’ Coach, Sunday Oliseh, as recommended by the technical and development committee, was unanimously approved and the General Secretary was therefore mandated to follow the due process in effecting his disengagement,” read the NFF communiqué in part.

According to AfricanFootball, Oliseh has now approached the NFF and rejected Babangida’s dismissal, insisting that his former team-mate’s contract is tied to his.

He stated that his contract with the NFF allows him to come along with two members of staff – a trainer and his personal assistant.
