Amongst other things the event brought awareness to the general public about issues affecting women such as sexual and physical abuse, female child education and issues of equality. Bet9ja used the opportunity to drive the conversation on social media about women-related issues with the hash tag #Bet9jaSupportsWomen.
General Coordinator of the Lagos Women Run, Tayo Popoola, said the public should expect a bigger event in 2018. Head of Marketing, Bet9ja, Mr. Tunji Meshioye added that Bet9ja was proud to be sponsors of the Lagos Women Run. He said not a lot of brands pay attention to women and women activities these days and that needs to change. At Bet9ja we see it as our responsibility to push women’s agenda, and get the women folks more attention to causes that concern them.
The next Lagos Women Run holds on the 10th, November 2018.
