Olamide apologizes to Headies’ organizers after 5 months

Nigerian indigenous rapper, Olamide, has openly apologized to the Annual Music Awards, Headies crew after his outburst during the last award ceremony few months ago.

Recall that Mavin’s Reekado Banks floored his YBLN counterpart, Lil Kesh to pick the Next Rated Artiste Award, a development that angered Olamide who publicly cursed the organisers on stage.

While on stage at the Headies which held in January, Olamide expressed his disappointment with the choice of Mavin Records’ fresh artiste, Reekado, as the winner of the most-coveted Next Rated award, which comes with a grand prize of a brand new Hyundai car, ahead of his YBNL protégé, Lil Kesh.

However, five months after his outburst, the ‘Shakitibobo’ crooner at the weekend, tendered an open apology on Hip TV to the organisers of the award.

He said, “On behalf of YBNL, I’m here to say a big sorry to the Headies crew, Hip TV crew and Mr Ayo Animashaun himself, if not for anything, he has always been supportive.

“From 2010 when Kaffy brought me to the office, he’s more like my dad in the industry, so I had to find a way to come down here and apologize for everything that has happened.

“It wasn’t like I wanted to disorganize the Headies award or make it look bad.

“I am very very sorry, from the bottom of my heart,” Olamide added.

Responding, Mr. Ayo Animashaun, the founder of HipTV said, “Yes, you are forgiven. We don’t dwell on the mistakes of the past. We look more to the future for progress,” he added.
