The Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has asked for a comprehensive list of Imo sons and daughters serving various jail terms in United States prisons.
The Governor made this appeal to the U.S Consul-General in Nigeria, Mr. John Bray, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Owerri, the state capital, on Wednesday.
He demanded that the names of Imo sons and daughters in U.S prisons be made available to him along with their offences, so that he could take a look at them.
According to Okorocha, “We have most of our sons and daughters languishing in U.S. prisons. While some of them are guilty as charged, others are victims of social circumstances.
“If they are people we can bring back on bail we will do that and bring them back to the state and provide for them as there is hope in Imo,” he averred.
