Okezie Ikpeazu win PDP Guber ticket in Abia

Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has won the Peoples Democratic Paty, PDP, governorship ticket in Abia State.

Widely believed to be the anointed candidate of incumbent Governor Theodore Orji, Ikpeazu defeated seven other aspirants, including immediately past Minister of Labour, Emeka Wogu.

Below is a breakdown of the result of the primary election held at Umuahia Township Stadium.

Iheanacho Okezie Orji 1, Marc Wabara 3, Okey Emuchey 3, Okezie Ikpeazu 487, FN Nwosu, 5 Uche Ogah, 103, Emeka Wogu 33, Acho Nwakanma 5, invalid votes 9.

In his reaction, an overwhelmed Ikpeazu said he was full of joy.

He thanked the delegates, his supporters and entire Abians, assuring that he would live up to the confidence reposed in him.
