A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State,Chief Olusola Oke today denied media reports that he recently criticised the administration and policies of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
He said the interview he granted was a long time ago before the governor made his intention known to join the PDP, stressing that the statement was no more relevant to the present issue at stake.
According to him,Mimiko informed him of his intention to join PDP,which he and his supporters regarded as a welcome development, saying the development would further strengthen the party towards the actualisation of the transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said” It will also ensure a compelling victory for our party in the 2015 elections and beyond.
“Goverrnor Mimiko’s membership of the PDP will also assist and relieve myself, our leaders and supporters of the very excruciating task of encouraging and receiving more members from other parties into the PDP across all the 18 local governments.
“Also, all our strong opinions of the government’s policies and actions will now be directed to and effectively discussed with him with the hope of creating a uniform, united and enhanced focus for developing our dear state and its people.”
Oke who was the governorship candidate of the PDP during the 2012 election in the State called on all party leaders, members and supporters across all the local governments in the state to continue to create space for the LP members and accommodate them in brotherliness and love.
His words “This statement has become necessary to correct the wrong impression the report might have caused readers in the state and beyond”
