Ojukaye murder charge: Court issues fresh order to Rivers police commissioner

A fresh order has been issued on the Commissioner of Police in Rivers state, CP Ahmed Zaki to produce the Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.

Justice Joy Akpughunum of a High Court in Port Harcourt ordered that the Commissioner of police should arrest and produce the accused person on the next adjourned date.

Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, a former Local Government Chairman of Asari-Toru under former Governor Rotimi Amaechi is facing murder charges for the crime allegedly committed during the 2015 General elections.

Justice Akpughunum said the police should be given a little more time to produce Ojukaye to face his trial.

Prosecuting Counsel, George Adeyemi who had prayed the court to grant more time to the State Police Command to produce the accused person explained that several previous orders have been taken for granted.

On his part, Defense Counsel, Clinton West, maintained that his client will appear in court to face his trial when he is fit enough.

“I told the court that my client is still indisposed even though I assured them that Ojukaye will come to court when he is well,” West said.

Ojukaye Flag-Amachree is facing charges of Murder and attempted murder.
