Ohanaeze warns against media attacks on Nwodo

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the apex Igbo socio–cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, has condemned the continued attacks on the President General of the group, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, over his stand in Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election.

Ibegbu warned those he termed unscrupulous elements who had formed the habit of seeking publicity and relevance by throwing tantrums on Nwodo to stop forthwith in their own interest.

The Ohanaeze spokesman, gave the warning in a terse statement forwarded to DAILY POST on Wednesday morning, asserting that Nwodo had piloted the affairs of the body creditably and that Igbos were happy with his leadership.

He advised such people to find another occupation if they have nothing else to do than just attacking Barr Nnia Nwodo.

“Nobody has monopoly of attacks and such people must desist from their antics .We have made it clear that Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has nothing personal against President Mohammadu Buhari.

“We will always protect the interest of Ndigbo on any issue including the Organization for Islamic Affairs(OIC) issue which Nigeria was entrapped through the back door. OIC may be doing great job for member countries economically, but are there not strings attached.

“If there are no strings attached then its okay. But, we have fears on that and the manner Mr President abandoned his swearing in post events and rushed to Saudi Arabia . Even there were advocating for Palestine which may not be the collective opinion of Nigerians. President Buhari’s personal opinion is different from the opinion of Nigeria and Nigerians”.
