Ogun State Police Command nabs kidnapper, rescues victim

Some kidnappers that abducted one Mrs Abosede Adenuga on Monday have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday in Abeokuta said the operatives of SARS carried out the arrest and rescued the victim after a tip off.

Adejobi disclosed that the command deployed its men to condone the Ibefun-Ikorodu road where it was gathered the kidnappers were heading to with the victim in a bid to hide her.

He said the police at Imodi Ijasi Ode-Ikorodu ambushed the abductors and in the process apprehended one Tunde Akilo, a member of the gang and rescued the victim.

“The kidnappers, who noticed police presence, jumped on a motorcycle to escape but they were caught by the police operatives who used another motorcycle to pursue them and rescued the victim,” he said.

The police boss further stated that men of the command recovered one loaded locally-made cut-to-size double-barreled gun, four live cartridges, a Volkswagen car and assorted charms.
