Nigeria’s Ogun state police command kept to their promise of being always combat ready with anybody or group of people who may want to disturb the peace in Ogun State as they defeated an armed robbery attack on a commercial bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Sagamu on Sunday.

Ogun state Police Force Spokesperson, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said his men acted on information about the robbery and were able to confront and defeat the armed men.

“The police attacked the robbers with Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and the robbers fled. We were able to recover N6.9 million and two methane gas cylinders from the robbers,” he said.

He further added that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and for alleged conspiracy and are helping in their investigations.

Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, assured that the state will be free from crime, most especially during this festive period, noting that the command will not relent to track down criminals.

The PPRO also urged residents to come forward to give relevant information to the Police anytime they see something strange within and around their neighborhood.
