Ogun police arrest three cult members

Police operatives attached to the Ago-Iwoye Division in Ogun State have apprehended three suspected cultists.

According to the police, the suspects identified as 23-year-old Tobi Richard, 200 level Political Science student of Olabisi Onabanjo University-Ago Iwoye, 25-year-old Babatunde Abiodun, a 400-level Geography Education student of the same institution and an HND 1 student of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ifeanyi Ubamwa were nabbed on Saturday at different locations within Ago-Iwoye area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi who confirmed the arrest said Richard and Abiodun were members of the Buccaneer confraternity while Ubamwa belonged to the Eye confraternity.

“The suspects have confessed to being members of the cult groups.

“The Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali has directed the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta to take over the case for proper investigations and that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations,” Adejobi said.

Adejobi further stated that the State Commissioner of Police has vowed to track down all miscreants who may want to cause trouble in the state.
