Ogun APC celebrates Amosun’s suspension, calls for his expulsion

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State has applauded the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party over the suspension of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

It called for his total expulsion from the party.

It described the development as appropriate, adding that the level of disloyalty and ingratitude Amosun had displayed against the party over time made his suspension long over due.

This was contained in a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday, and signed by the APC Ogun Caretaker Committee’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Tunde Oladunjoye, the copy which was sent to Daily Post.

The statement reads: “we received the NWC’s decision wholeheartedly and we say it is long overdue.

“Governor Amosun’s actions constitute a huge demonstration of ingratitude and party disloyalty. We are calling on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to go ahead and expel Governor Amosun from the party without further delay.

“This will teach him a lesson and serve as deterrent to people who may want to follow his inglorious path”.

DAILY POST reports that the NWC of APC had on Friday afternoon suspended the duo of Governors Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, and Rochas Okorocha of Imo State over what it called “anti parry activities”.

Recalled that both Amosun and Okorocha were supporting candidates for the gubernatorial election slated for March 9 in their respective states on different political platforms other than APC, after their anointed candidates failed to secure APC’s tickets.

While Amosun is supporting Adekunle Akinlade on the platform of Allied People’s Movement, APM, Okorocha threw his weight behind his son-in-law, Mr Uche Nwosu of Action Alliance, AA.
