Ogun APC attributes Buhari’s victory to resilient human spirit

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari at the March 28 presidential poll could be attributable to the resilience of the human spirit and sportsmanship.

The party, in a statement signed by the state publicity secretary, Sola Lawal, said Buhari’s victory was made possible by the fact that the President-elect shunned recourse to violence in the previous failed attempts.

“The pan–Nigerian mandate offered the President-elect at the polls is a clear pointer to the fact that Nigerian electorates are detribalized and politically sophisticated to take the right decision about their destiny,” it noted.

The party also said that out-going President Goodluck Jonathan had won himself a noble place in history by successfully supervising a smooth transition from one administration to another.

“Indeed, President Jonathan is the hero of this process for being the first Nigerian incumbent president to concede defeat in an election in which he stood as candidate.

“Such rare display of statesmanship is the stuff that great men are made of and for opting for such grandiosely noble path, the President has saved the nation the pangs of needless turmoil.”

The party further called on the electorate in the state, to reciprocate Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s infrastructural development in Ogun with their votes for his second term in office come April 11.
