Ogun Accord Party chairman defects to APGA, blames Doyin Okupe

Acting Chairman of the Accord Party (AP) in Ogun State, Adeyemi Alli, has announced his defection to All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

He disclosed this on a radio programme in Abeokuta, yesterday.

Alli alleged that he was sidelined by leaders of the party led by Chief Doyin Okupe and others who just joined the platform.

Alli further alleged that despite being Acting Chairman, nobody informed him about the inauguration of the party secretariat held last week.

Alli said he and some aggrieved members of the party had concluded arrangements to join APGA “because of this injustice. We are leaving”.

Reacting, AP South West Chairman, Ojo Kayode, said the party was aware of Alli’s defection, describing him as “mere acting Chairman”.

DAILY POST recall that Alli last month declared that Okupe is not a member of the AP.

He spoke at a meeting with the state executives in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

“The attention of the party has been drawn to persons claiming to align with the Accord Party known as the ‘Ogun Integrity Group’ allegedly belonging to Okupe”, he said.

“While we are open to having more people join us in propagating our vision, due process has to be followed.

“We are not stopping anyone from joining Accord Party so far such persons or groups meet our conditions of membership”.
