Ogbe-Ijoh monarch, community recover, hands over 2 immigration rifles to Delta CP

The Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdom,HRM Couple Oromoni and the Ogbe-Ijoh Community today recovered and handed over two G3 rifles belonging to the Nigeria Immigration Service to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Ibrahim.

The two G3 rifles were allegedly seized from Immigration Officers by some armed Ijaw youths in a riverine community recently.

In a remark while presenting the rifles, the monarch stated that they decide to recover and hand over the rifles to the police because they are law abiding and peaceful people.

The Pere accused the Delta State Government of playing politics with the crisis between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities.

He also appealed to the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to esolve the crisis between them.

HRM. Oromoni also donated a plot for the establishment of a Special Protection Unit, SPU with two hundred personnel for the protection of Very Important Personalities in his domain.

In his response, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Ibrahim commended the monarch and the community for handing over two guns to him say, “I thank you because you did not keep it back to attack the Aladja people. You have displayed a good example. Keep it up.”

CP Ibrahim noted that apart from Aladja Community, the recent attacks by Fulani Herdsmen in Uwherhun community was his only challenge, stressing that his command is doing everything possible to forestall breakdown of law and order by the herdsmen in the area.
