Stoke City’s Peter Odemwingie, has revealed that he will be satisfied, if he manages to score 10 goals next season.
The Nigerian missed most of the last campaign with a serious knee injury, but came off the bench to score in their pre-season game against FC Cologne.
Odemwingie remains positive about his recovery and is delighted that he has been able to take part in preparations for the new season.
“My first target was to not miss any training during pre-season, which I’ve done so far, and hopefully that will stay that way,” Odemwingie told Stoke Sentinel.
“I hope to start many games and get to double figures for goals. I look at 10 Premier League goals this season, I think it’s achievable.
“I’m motivated and have a good feeling about the year and can’t wait for the season.”
“Yes, hopefully I can get 90 minutes,” he added.
“I feel much better physically, but need to keep going and working hard.
“I’ve had three games so far, 60 minutes, 80 and 45, which is what I need.
“The knee is getting much better and I’m feeling more comfortable. It’s nine months now and still a few months away from being 100 per cent, but I’m happy where I am.
“There’s no short cuts. You have to make those efforts off the ball as well, which I’m trying to do, to get me back to my best physical condition and hopefully we can continue without any injuries,” he concluded.
