Obuh appointed Technical Adviser of Kwara United

The Kwara Government on Tuesday approved the appointment of Coach John Obuh as the new Technical Adviser of Kwara United Football Club.

A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Kale Ayo, said Obuh’s appointment had been approved by the state government.

The statement said the approval came with a mandate to tinker the club back to the Premier League.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the former technical crew of the club headed by Coach Tunde Abdulrahman was dissolved.

The dissolution, which also affected the management team, followed a dismal performance that saw the team being relegated to the National League at the end of 2014/2015 league season.

The statement described Obuh as a qualified and highly experienced coach who would be capable of bringing his experience to bear on the job.

Obuh’s appointment has reunited him with the newly appointed chairman of the club, Thompson Oladimeji, as they both worked together in the 2008/2009 season to lead the team from the National League to the Premier League.

His performance with Kwara United in 2009 earned him the National U-17 team coaching job.

He graduated from there to coach the U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles.

The commissioner urged the coach to work hard to justify the trust reposed in him by taking Kwara United to the next level.(NAN)
