Godfrey Oboabona has said he is not disturbed by his exclusion from the Super Eagles squad for next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.
The Rizespor defender last played for Nigeria in their 1-0 defeat to Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in March.
He was left out of the squad announced by new head coach, Gernot Rohr, to play Tanzania in the final match of the qualifying series .
Oboabona, who has played all five matches for his Turkish club this season, says his chance will come again with the Eagles.
“We just have to support those in the squad and pray they succeed by beating Zambia,” he told CompleteSports.
“That’s more important than any individual missing from the squad.
“I’ve my chances and I took them, so I believe under the new coach I’d get another to prove my worth.”
