The Publisher of Zion Nationale Newspaper, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego, has emerged the Delta State Chairman of the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, ACNPN Delta Council.
Obiemenyengo emerged chairman at the ACNPN in a congress held at the Corporate Headquarters of the Ministry of Information in Asaba today.
Obiemenyego polled a total of 26 votes to defeat his closest rival who managed to garner 10 votes.
Other executive members are; Sir. December Gboru, Vice Chairman, Mrs. Janet Wuojuola Okolosi, Secretary, Odiwe Nnamdi, Treasurer, Alaska Ekele, Financial Secretary, Sir. Cyprian Eboagu,Publicity Secretary, Dave Onyia, Organizing Secretary, Aware Michael Segun, Provost. They will be administering the affairs of the once troubled ACNPN in the next three years.
Obiemenyo threatened to publish any report against the Delta State Government, but said he was not fighting the government.
” The Governor is from is from my area in Anioma. If he messes up, I will report.”
In his goodwill message, the Special Assistant on Community Newspaper to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka congratulated the new ACNPN Executive and urged them to work in unity to benefit from the Delta State Government.
High point of the congress was the administering of oath of office on the newly elected ACNPN Executive by Comrade Precious Enebuse, interim committee chairman.
