The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate for the November 16, 2013 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Chief Willie Obino has unveiled his blueprint tagged 10-point Agenda.
He said the 10-point agenda would encourage rapid development in the State.
Presenting the document tagged 10- pillars of development to journalists on Friday in Awka, Chief Obiano said it was a comprehensive master plan that drew heavily from the current achievement of APGA in the state.
He insisted that there was need to continue the project of the current administration and complete them.
“The wheel which revolved around four major areas include industrialization, trade and commerce, agriculture, oil and gas. My vision is for Anambra State to become the first choice investment destination and hub for industrialization.
“My mission is to create a socially stable business friendly environment that will attract both indigene and foreigners to seek wealth creating opportunities in Anambra”, he said.
In education, Obiano said if voted into power, he would construct the phase 2 of over 1,500 classroom blocks for primary schools including on-going rehabilitation works in schools and deploy more Microsoft academies, as well as sustain existing relationship with the church to strengthen and return morality to our schools.
He said his administration would set up free health care policy for children under 10 years, less privileged pregnant women and the elderly above 60, in addition to establishing three new general and two specialist hospitals in Anambra.
The hopeful APGA governorship candidate who promised to pressurize the federal government to expedite action towards building the second Niger bridge, also assured to continue the on-going expansion of the Awka capital city project with the aim of decongesting highly populated parts of the state.
On security and social welfare, he assured of introducing a capacity building program to re-equip the community vigilante groups in their effort to assist the police in keeping Anambra free of crimes, while he would also sustain equipping security operatives by donating 500 petrol vehicles within the first two months in office.
He said, “We would revise the compensation and welfare packages of civil servants to ensure optimal service delivery, greater productivity and better life for our people. We shall introduce a structured and transparent recruitment process and commence annual retreat for all civil servants in the state to evaluate performance”.
