Former Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Bello Masari, yesterday stated that former President Olusegun Obasanjo left the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, long before now.
According to the one-time PDP member, Obasanjo’s public tearing of his membership card was merely “ceremonial”.
Masari is the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina Staate and a founding member of the party.
Reacting to the card-tearing news that made headlines earlier in the week, Mmasari said: “That was ceremonial tearing of the PDP membership card but Obasanjo left PDP long ago”.
Masari described Obasanjo as a dogged fighter who was always sure of his onions before engaging in any fight, stressing that his verdict on the Jonathan presidency could not be more correct.
“He was a military head of state and president for eight years. He single-handedly brought this government. So if he says this government is bad, it means it’s bad,” Masari added.
