NYSC: What Gov. Oyetola told corps members

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State on Tuesday reiterated the state government’s commitment to the welfare and security of corps members serving in the state.

He restated the commitment during the closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch A orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State.

The governor enjoined corps members to accept their postings to the different local government areas of the state in good faith, and not to influence their postings to urban cities, NAN reports.

“I have been rightly informed that your postings were done in line with the approved posting policy and according to the felt needs of the state.

‘‘Do not be hasty therefore to change your posting, but rather embrace your posting and be a blessing to the people you have been sent to.

‘‘Let me once again reiterate my commitment to your welfare and security in the state.

“I want you to also take seriously the security tips you have been given during the course of the orientation exercise, do not undermine or disregard them,” Oyetola said.

In his address, Mr Emmanuel Attah, the State Coordinator of NYSC in Osun, asked the corps members to shun all forms of indiscipline, corrupt practices, partisan politics and religious extremism.

He also advised them not to embark on unauthorised journeys or have disrespect for the socio-cultural values of their host communities.

Attah urged them to follow the right channel of communication in everything they do, warning them not to get involved in criminal activities.

He appealed to their employers to provide them (corps members) with minimum comfort, treat them with respect, show them love, care, and correct them.

Attah urged the employers to appreciate the little efforts of the corps members.
