The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Suleiman Kazure has canvassed for the expansion of orientation camps across the country.
Kazure said this at Ede Permanent Orientation Camp in Osun, while paying a visit to the camp to interact with members of Batch ‘A’ Stream II on Wednesday.
Kazure was represented by the Director of Procurement of the Corps, Mr Yakubu Joach.
According to him, there is no year that the NYSC scheme did not have additional number of corps members, adding that, “in the next few years, this place will not be enough to accommodate all the corps member.”
” I plead that there should be periodic expansion and renovation of all the orientation camps in the country because the corps members population keeps on increasing day-in day-out”.
“Don’t forget that the provision of the orientation camp in the constitution of the operation in the ACT is the responsibilities of the state government to provides space for the orientation course for corps members “. he said.
He, therefore, pleaded for the provision of constant renovation of the camp and facilities so it will be able to accommodate corps members deployed to any state to serve his or her fatherland.
He opined that if the orientation camps are fully equipped with facilities and are expanded, there will be more spaces and rooms for the corps members to optimally fulfill their obligation.
