One Adamu Jibrin, who allegedly murdered a corps member, Lawal Auwal Kontagora, in Kaduna State, has been apprehended.

DAILY POST had reported that the deceased, and his unnamed friend had reportedly gone to visit a female friend at the Malali area of the state on October 17, before he was killed.

The assailants demanded for their mobile phones and in the process of going into the car to get the phone, they thought he (Kontagora) was ‘trying to be smart’ so they shot him at a close range.

Confirming the arrest on Saturday, the state Public Relation Officer, PRO, ASP Aliyu Usman, told DAILY POST the kingpin was arrested on November 2.

The PRO said, “We recovered six loaded cartridges, two knives, two cutlass, a double barrel and one Samsung phone in his room at Unguwar Yero Area of the state.

“He was arrested by the State Intelligence Bureau, SIB.”

While assuring the public of the police’ commitment to rid criminals and criminality in the state and its environs, the PRO added, “We need the support of every one to achieve it.

“The 22-year-old suspect has made useful statement to the police on the offence,” the PRO added, confirming also that two suspects were earlier arrested on October 20.

DAILY POST reports that the deceased graduated from one of the universities in Malaysia four months ago and came down to participate in the one-year mandatory NYSC before he was killed.
