The 2015 presidential candidate of KOWA party, Professor Remi Sonaiya has reacted to the allegation of NYSC certificate forgery raised against the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, which has been generating reactions.
Adeosun’s official credentials reportedly showed that she parades a purported fake NYSC exemption certificate, which was issued in September 2009, granting her exemption from the mandatory service on account of age.
Despite the weight of the allegation, the minister has not reacted to inquiries by journalists.
Reacting, Sonaiya, on her Twitter handle, @oluremisonaiya, asked Adeosun to reply the allegations rather than keeping mute.
She said it will be honorable for the minister to come out and clear her name rather than the current silence.
Sonaiya wrote, “Patiently waiting for the Min. of Finance @HMKemiAdeosun to break this silence which is becoming rather uncomfortable.
” The honorable thing to do would be to come out clean: Did you forge your NYSC certificate or not?”, adding that it would be so refreshing to have a public officer tell the truth.
Meanwhile, the Presidency on Monday said that it was yet to be briefed about alleged forgery of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the weekend called on Buhari to sack and prosecute Adeosun based on the allegation.
