NUJ Warri chapel inaugurates new leadership

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel has inaugurated a new leadership, with Vanguard Newspaper Photo-Journalist, Comrade Akpokona Omafuaire as chairman.

Comrade Akpokona Omafuaire in a speech stated that his three year administration would ensure that a standing cooperative was put in place to better the lot of members, in addition to reviving and uniting members of the Union.

He also pledged to provide the Union with an official bus to ease the movement of members.

‎Delta State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Norbert Chiazor, who was represented by the State Secretary, Comrade Oyovwe Churchill advised the newly sworn in Chairman and his executive members to rule with the fear of God.

The immediate past Chairman of the NUJ Warri, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu urged his successor to ensure he carried everyone along in his administration, just as he sued for cooperation from members for the new exco.

While thanking God for a successful reign, Ikeogwu said,”It was not easy task piloting the affairs, obviously because of problems created by some unrepentant members.”
