NTA bans staff from sharing, patronizing online publications

The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, has banned members of staff from online publications.

In memo sent to its stations and obtained by DAILY POST, NTA warned that any member caught would be punished accordingly.

The letter dated January 15, was signed by its Executive Director, Admin. and Training, Steve Egbo, for the Director General.

It said, “The unguarded and unethical manner, in which online publications concerning sensitive and topical issues are being embraced, canvassed, patronized and shared by members of the staff to the embarrassment of Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, has come to the notice of the board of management.

“Management has decided to put a stop to this reckless and unethical behavour.

“The Director General, therefore, expressly mandate you to inform all members of the staff in your station to steer clear of any publication (on-line or otherwise) that could impact negatively on the corporate existence of Nigeria and to the embarrassment of the Nigerian Television Authority.

“Please note that any member of staff caught in this fast spreading serous act of misconduct will be made to face the consequences of his/her action in line with civil service rules.”
