Nsima Ekere vs Udom: What court decided on Monday

The Akwa Ibom State Governorship Petition Tribunal sitting in Uyo has adjourned the cross examination of witnesses in a case between Governor Udom Emmanuel and Nsima Ekere to July 10, 2019.

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ekere, had filed a petition challenging the outcome of the 2019 governorship election that saw the emergence of Udom as the governor of the State.

The Chairman of the three-man panel, Chief Justice A.M Yusuf, while adjourning the matter, announced that it was to enable the registry to mark the exhibit properly.

According to the court, it will commence the examination on 10th of July when all the evidences have been duly marked.

Following the decision, the lead counsel to Udom, Chief Assam Assam SAN, thanked the chairman of the panel for showing right attitude towards lawyers, adding that it will help strengthens the working of the judiciary.
