Four officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Tuesday escaped death by whiskers in Jigawa State, as they were severely beaten by kerosene black marketers and fuel attendants at the Dutse NNPC mega station.
The incident also left the official vehicle they were driving seriously damaged and one of the operatives was confirmed to have sustained knife cuts.
Sources say the men had visited the station where they discovered irregularity in the sale of kerosene.
They were said to have demanded that the normal price be charged so the people could buy the commodity at ease. This, we gathered reportedly led to a disagreement between the attendants and black marketers.
A senior official of the corps who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that four of their personnel brutalized at the mega station are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.
