NSCDC impounds 50 drums of adulterated petroleum products in Akwa Ibom


The Akwa Ibom Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it has impounded 50 drums of adulterated petroleum products in a Hausa settlement in Uyo, the State capital.

This was disclosed to journalist in Uyo, by the Assistant Commandant in charge of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr Ime White on behalf of the State Commandant of the corps, Mr Emmanuel Oyetunji.

White noted that operatives of the Command uncovered the adulterated product behind a Mosque in a Hausa settlement, near Akwa Ibom Transport Company,AKTC, motor park.

He said, “Through a tip-off, the command was able to confiscate 50 drums of adulterated petroleum products which could have been supplied to an unsuspecting company.”

The Assistant Commandant however stressed that no arrest has been made so far, but promised that those behind the act would be brought to justice.

He called on the general public to be vigilant and report any suspicious person to law enforcement agency close to them.
