NSCDC commences first-ever promotion examination

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has commenced preparation for its first ever promotion exams.

The exams will be for all senior staff between level 7 to 14 in Superintendent and Inspectorate cadres as well as level 15 and 16 respectively.

Contrary to the allegation that appointment and promotion are done through the back door or meant for the highest bidder, the Corps stated that, the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prison Service board, an umbrella body regulating Appointment, Promotion and Discipline in the agencies under the Federal Ministry of Interior, is in charge of the promotion examination, therefore, there is no mischief whatsoever.

The Corp said the Commandant General, Dr. Ade Abolurin who is known for his drive towards staff welfare development has fought tooth and nail to ensure that he breaks the jinx in his own tenure as the leader of the organization.

He has therefore charged his staff to ensure they make the best use of this opportunity that will catapult them to the next level in their chosen career.

He also charged the junior personnel who are awaiting their own promotional exams in not too distant time to remain resolute as modalities have being put in place for theirs to come up soon.

Abolurin stressed that, the exercise is in line with the public service requirement for upward mobility of personnel from one cadre to the other and all the rules governing the exercise as applicable to other services will be strictly adhered to.

He reiterated that the exam does not require payment of money, warning that anyone found engaging in such act would be arrested.

The NSCDC boss urged personnel to maintain credibility and integrity of the Corps at all times and most importantly, to shun act of malpractices.

Abolurin wishes all participants successes in their exams.
